HHR 2009 repair codes: PO325 & PO496

Hey Forum,
Has anyone had an issue with these codes: PO325 & PO496. Can I fix myself or do I need to go to the Dealer? Thanks in advance

Hey Financeguy54,

Welcome to the forum! Sorry to see your HHR is throwing these codes. Though countless DIYers have been helped using this forum, if you'd like to take this to your local Chevrolet dealership, I would be happy to assist you. Just send us a PM with your VIN, mileage, contact info, and preferred Chevrolet dealership. We'll have them contact you to set up an appointment.

Let us know if that's something we can do for you. We'd be happy to assist with any additional questions as well!

Regards,

Geoff G.

Welcome to the site, check your wire connection to the knock sensor and the Evap purge valve.
I googled the codes and found several how to videos

P0325 is related to the knock sensor and or the wiring to it.
Check the wire it could be loose , did you have the starter changed? The knock sensor lives just above it, beside the oil pressure switch.

I had to replace my Oil Pressure switch a while back, and found it much easier to just drop the starter and replace the switch from underneath. You may want to consider dropping the starter as well, being the knock sensor is in the same area as the Oil Pressure switch.

(the starter comes out pretty easy)

If there is a knock you would hear/feel it.

Why would you think 89 Octane would fix a fault in the knock sensor? Which is basically a microphone.
