The 2006 2LT you are interested in

Low miles are good. A couple of points. GM's 5 year / 100K power train warranty started in 2007. My left rear hub just failed, would have cost $500 at Firestone, and should be covered (and maybe with a loaner!). The car you checked has no sunroof and also doesn't have the heated, leather seats (cloth are never heated, leather always are, on the HHR). Almost 2LT are automatic. The manual gets better mileage, has more power, and early HHRs had an almost universal failure of a steel pin in the automatic transmission shifter. Girlfriend and I each have manual 2LTs with just about every other option (mine lacks side airbags) and we LOVE the heated leather seats. When I strain my back, it's like having a built-in heating pad, with the heated seats and the lumbar support (which the vehicle you mentioned DOES have).

Addendum - My 2007 with 47K cost $9000 (with several minor repairs needed) in Jan 2010, and her 2006 with 85K cost $7500 ($8500 inspected, repaired, and delivered) in Dec 2010. My impression is that prices have actually been trending higher for the same age used non-turbo HHR in the last year, but significantly lower for the now-discontinued turbocharged SS.

Was just on craigslist looking in the tri-state area and prices all seem higher than you guys suggest. I did find an 07 around 10 but with 61000+ miles. WTF

After reading this thread it's good to see another guy getting an HHR to accommodate their R/C hobby. The rear deck makes this the ideal car.

I am a professional r/c helicopter pilot and have just put a deposit on a 2010 HHR. It's the perfect car for what I need and the 30mpg doesn't hurt either especially when my sponsor pays me .50 a mile!

I am looking to immediately upgrade to Cobalt SS rims and a DVD/Nav head unit.

Coming from a Lincoln Navigator I am looking forward to zipping around once again in my new 2010 HHR.

Also like I said before look outside the tri-state area. This area always has higher pricing and if you are willing to drive a bit you can save a nice chunk of money.

Maybe have the picture of the car and dealership information in said suticase of money, haha and sales information.

My dad flew to pick up a car a while back with a bunch of cash and a one way ticket back in 04, yeah he was a pain and he got pulled out for extra searches but oh well.

OK, so I'm still looking for an HHR and I think I know what I want. Red, Blue or Black LT 2.4 and running boards and moonroof but I'll settle without those if I have to. I found a couple of them under $10,000 but missed a couple due to my work schedule and not getting there before they sold! I'm hooked and now I GOTTA HAVE ONE!!! Test drove one today locally and was impressed with the power it had, but there was some confusion between the internet price and what the finance guy quoted me. Wasn't happy!
