Hi, Newbie from PA
Hi, I hate intro's and don't know what to write.
I am in the process of shopping for a new vehicle that will work for my love of cars and going fast with the function for my job as a nanny and eventually having a family car.
Guy has a 04 GTO, I just sold my 05 GTO. Had mustangs and camaro's before that. Was looking at TBSS but then decided the HHR is more my size and functional for me.
Now off to trying to find one locally, so far it is seeming harder then I thought. So far everyone I have found is already sold. I really would love to find one with a stage 1 kit on it, well that and auto. :)

finding HHR
I wanted an LT2 with lots of options and a MANUAL transmission. When I checked the link to see what was on my car by vehicle identification number, I discovered that, for 2007 at least, only one in twenty (5%) of HHRs were manual! I went through autotrader.com and got what I wanted from a used car lot 400 miles away, which happened to be where family lives. Since I didn't personally see the car before I bought it, I didn't realize it had several things broken (rear washer, sunroof, driver's mirror, and remote mirror switch), but the price was low enough and a local dealer nice enough that I will simply get them repaired. Trying to find something used and local may be difficult, though specifying an automatic transmission will make the universe of possibilities 20 times bigger for non-SS models!
I used Autotrader as well, but selected "used" and "dealer". I was able to find a nice preowned with 6k mi about 70 miles away. You don't have to buy it on the internet. In my case, I called the dealer, went down, looked and tested it, then left a deposit.
When I was shopping for SS', I saw more than a few in the S Jersey area not far from Philly.
This one's 36 miles from Philadelphia just today:

This one's 100 miles away:

thanks guys.
I might go look at the orange in quakertown but it's the manual. I can 1/2 drive stick but would prefer auto. Screaming kids + stick = more stress then I want to think about.
So far all the local ish 150 less mile autos are sold but not off cars.com WTF lol but oh well I'm not in a major rush to buy now this day. One dealer I emailed fighting with me that the stage 1 can't be done on an auto lol.
