Greetings, new to HHR site. I do not currently own a HHR, however, that is why I joined the site so as to research the vehicle befor I purchased one. I have admired them for a long time. I put off buying one because I felt closed in. Last week I drove one with a sun roof and that changed my opinion.
Saturday I am scheduled to drive an 09 cardnial red lt2.
What fuel mileage should i expect to get

to the site! If you decide to buy an HHR, you will be very pleased!

Mileage will obviously vary by each driver, but I get around mid 20's in the city, and low 30s on the expressway.

to the site!! I get about 21-22 round town and 26-30 on trips (but have not yet been on an all-day road trip. I think in that scenario I'd get 30+ mpg).. but mine is a SS...

No matter what, you'll love the HHR--it is truly an exceptional car!

Where in NC are you located (not familiar with that town)? I lived in Winston-Salem area for a while...

Enjoy!

If I hypermill, I can get up to 34. But I have an SS that is always reaching escape velocity.

On a 45 mile trip to pittsburgh which is mostly highway but there is also traffic I get about 29mpg. If I did not go during rush hour the mileage probably would have been over 30. I have a 2.2. The 2lt has a 2.4 im guessing so im not sure how that would effect it. It also depends on driving style. I travel about 65-70 on the highways on cruise control when i can. I would guess on average if you have half city half highway you should get no lower than 25mpg. Hope this helps.
