New 09 HHR

Got my HHR LS about a month and a half ago. Got it through cash for clunkers. Sticker was 19,560. With all GM rebates, clunker rebate, GM card rebate, and suplier prixing I got it for 9800 dollars, which I though was great
I was getting rid of my old 92 Explorer. My dealer had about 20 HHR's, and I told him I wanted the cheapest one with an automatic transmission that wasn't black. I ended up with a Cardinal REd LS and the only option is the auto tranny with remote start. This car had been traded amoung several dealers and had been built for almost a year. Worked out for me cause it was built before some price increases, and about the time I got it
Chevy came out with a extra 1000 rebate for cars that had been on the lot a long time.
Cardinal Red with the Ebony interior. Since the purchase, I have added chrome door handle caps. bumper protector, scored a mint chrome grille off e-bay, and put on a set of chrome Seven x wheels from Discount Tire. I have a set of roof rails that should be here Tuesday. I have read the roof rail installation thread and that is what convinced me to get them. After that, maybe a chrome liftgate applique if I can find one reasonable, and mirror caps.
I have lurked here a lot and there are several threads that have really helped me and lots of others that were just a pleasure to read.

That sounds like a heck of a deal, Im sure you will enjoy driving it.
That is a nice color choice, probably looks good with the chrome bits. Post up some pics if you can.

Deal

Yeah, I was amazed. I originally made the deal for 10.800. and the day the dealer told me to pick it up he told me about the new rebate for older cars that had been on the lot for a while. The rebates were
Supplier discount 760
GM Card 1,000
Customer cash 1,500
GM loyalty 1,000
Older car 1,000
Cash for clunkers 4,500
I have a great dealer in the small town of Davis ,Oklahoma. Mike Hellack Chevrolet. How many other dealers would have told me about that extra thousand dollar rebate, especially since I had made the deal at 10,800. Not many I bet, which is why I keep going back to himn. You may not get the absolute bottom dollar from him, but I have NEVER left feeling like I got took or screwed over.
It was pretrty plain, but the chrome grille, and wheels are making it look great, and I can't wait on the roof rails. Now if I can just fine someone that bought a black chrome liftgate applique and wants to get rid of thier mind bright chrome one like the guy I got the grille from did. Thanks for the welcome
