New to the Forum not to the HHR!

Hello everyone, I just found this site earlier in the week and from what little I've seen of it I've been missing alot. Here's our story how we came to the HHR world. We both loved the idea and concept of the HHR. As soon as they hit the showroom floors we were at the dealerships test driving them. But every one of them on the lots were automatics and I wanted a manual. Since it was going to be mainly my daily driver I like to have alittle fun with it. The wife's daily driver is a White 01 Corvette Coupe. All the dealers said they weren't going to get HHR's in manual unless I special ordered it. So we waited and would check lots every so often. Then in late May 06 we saw Victory Red Spring Edition with and Manual Transmission!!! Test drove it and traded in my 03 Pontiac Vibe GT on the spot. We both loved the car and the wife soon started calling it "BIG RED". Fast forward to the summer of 08 I was really envious of the new SS models. The wife was wanting to semi-retire the Vette to weekends and Corvette club functions. So she said that I should special order a SS and she would take BIG RED as her daily driver. I was at Marathon Chevrolet in Summerville, SC in no time. In late Sep 08 my 2009 Blue Flash Metallic HHR SS showed up and I couldn't be happier. What a great car, such a difference from BIG RED. Brenda calls it the "BLUE BEAST". Then in Jan 09 we went to Marathon Chevy to see what HHR's were on the lot for Brenda's brother because he totaled his PT Cruiser. He ended up buying one but Brenda fell in love with a 2009 Crystal Red Metallic 2LT HHR automatic. She was getting tired of shifting in rushhour traffic. So BIG RED was traded in for "SPARKLE". Then our son Sean presented us with our first grandchild Emily in Jun 09. So he traded in his 07 Chevy Colorado Pick-up for a 09 Black LS HHR. So we have our own HHR Club in the family.

Wow, great story. Welcome to the site. Please post up pictures if you can. I love the blue flash SS, that colour really pops. Is it manual with brembos, or auto?

It is a manual with Brembo's, Limited Slip Differential, Preformance Seat, and Sunroof. Just the way I wanted it. The GM at Marathon Chevy let me use his first allocation of the model year to get it that way.

I have been trying to post some pictures for some time, but I'm not given that option!
