New HHR owner here! Glad to be on board!

Hello! I just picked up a used (obviously) 2007 HHR LS2 that I found online at a VW dealership fairly close to me. It has 85,000 and is in excellent condition. The funny thing was that I was happy with the advertised price on the car and thats what prompted me to go and look at it. When I got there, it was all that the listing said it was. During my talk with the salesman, I mentioned that I was going to look at another one and they dropped the price another $900 bucks if I "bought it now". I did! So far I have driven it about 700 miles in the week that I have had it and there are no drivability issues that I can see. It does have two open recalls on it and I am going to take it to a Chevy dealer this week to have those addressed. So, all in all, I am a pretty happy owner. I do have a couple questions that I will post in the appropriate forums. Anyhow, thanks for having me in the club!

Welcome.

Best to call the dealer ahead. Parts need to be ordered to your VIN and it will take some time.

hello all

bought a HHR few weeks ago...looked around for two weeks...all dealers where asking mid to high 9000 for a HHR with 60 70 80.000 miles.,,didnt matter what year..they seen to hold there value and body of car not in great shape....picked up 09 manual 5 speed,,27000 miles..was happy it looked brand new...2 year warranty .first year bumper to bumper...end up paying 9500 with 4 new tires installed...love shifting and was surprised motor has a nice sound when pulling a few extra rpm....looking forward to reading posts and getting info.....i also ride a SUZUKI DR650 dual sport motorcycle and enjoy carp fishing with a passion ....thanks for reading

I just bought mine Monday, a 2009 LS with 95,000 miles. A lot of used cars here in the Valley have high mileage because so many people commute to the Bay Area or Sacramento for work. Usually it's mostly freeway miles. You're right about the price - and holding their value was one of the main reasons I kept coming back to the HHR - that, and its flexibility as a cargo vehicle. The original asking price on mine was $9,999 which I thought was too high, but I knew they'd come down. Long story short, I offered $7499 which they accepted. $8100 and change out the door, which I thought was fair. The tires are new, the paint is way better than average, and the interior is spotless.

So welcome to you and me both! I'm looking forward to meeting other enthusiasts, learning a bunch and keeping my wagon for the next 10 years or longer.
