New to the site, not the HHR
I would like to take a few mins to say hello to everyone. I came accross this site looking up some infor for our HHR. I stumbled apon the HHR when we were looking for a new car back in 2005. We need something that got decent MPG. We decied on the HHR over the Escape Hybrid, because it got almost the same milage and look and preformed a lot better. We bulit our car on line and took that to the dealer. It took them 3 months to find the one we wanted.

2.4 auto(only thing I did not want but had to because of mothers knees)
17 inch 5 spokes
Casmeir interior
Chrome package
Sunroof
Premium sound package
Its got everything on it
77,000 or so to date
Its a daily driver
Since I now have the car at college, it gets beaten on a everyday, nothing it cant handle though.
This little car has had a rough life. Its been rearend, cost 3K to fix it, has had tons of dents removed, and was run over a parking spot end, resulting in a new oil pan and trans pan. At 12K miles we had to have the breaks resurfaced and agian at 22K miles. It seems to happen ever 10K-15k miles. It has also had a new ECM put in at around 20K miles. It shorted while the windows were open and about to rain. The Key also got stuck in the ingition at this time.
It is an increduble little car though. I finialy chanced the air filter last week for the first time since it was brand new. Not much differance was noticed either. I have gotten over 40 MPG in it, though I have also gotten 3 mpg too. Its got a lot of get up and go, it can almost keep up with my 400hp truck. It goes plenty fast, though it could do with out the gov. It handles like nothing else. I have put it throught 90 deg truns at over 75 mph and had no problems(advisory seep was 15 mph). It also hanldes rather well in the rain. Does just fine at top speed in a down pour. It impresses me every time I drive it.
Also have a 85 Chevy C20 350 vin M, with a few mods. 0-60 in 7.6 sec. Not bad for a HD truck.

VERY HEAVY FOOT!!! I also for got to mention that I have had the trans overheat on me 3 times in the last week. It shifts hard, than TCS goes off. All I have done is let it sit for about 30 mins and its ok then. I dont know why its doing this. Have been driving it easy when it does this. I would check the trans fluid but cant on this trans.

T/C light and hard shifting is "limp mode"..... Could be lots of things but many people are replacing the cam solenoids and this goes away. There's a "how to" around here somewhere. Are you getting any engine codes?

Thanks, I will have to go to auto zone to see if there are any codes. I dont have a scaner, as most of the work I do is on my truck. I actuly changed the oil in it for the first time last week. That was a learning experince with the cartage filter. How much would the cam solenoid be?
