New from Texas

Well I bought my 1st HHR this week, to give as a surprise Christmas gift to my daughter in College. It is a 2008 HHR LT w/ AA5 option, which I think looks great. Truth is my wife and I both love it, we both want to keep it for ourselves. 74k miles, clean Carfax, 76 yr old owner, well maintained and garage kept.
So I take it to a friends warehouse to park it until Christmas morning and detail it. In doing so, I backed into a receiver on a boat trailer. ....So now its in the shop $1600 getting fixed in time for Christmas. I was so frustrated, and mad at myself. Could have done a lot of customizing with that money. Upside, It's getting fixed correctly this time, as the owner had that corner repaired before as he backed into his kid's car in the driveway.

Welcome to the site! Nice AA5! I like the Merlot paint , and the rims are cool.
What mods were y’all planning on?

That looks sharp with the Wheels and the colour. May it serve you all well.

Welcome to the site.

Nice looking half panel. If the budget allows, running boards and a rear spoiler would really give it the "look".
Factory fog lights would also be a nice addition.

Thanks for the Welcome.

As for mods, a rear OEM spoiler is on the way, since the body shop will have it anyway, They said they would paint it for me. Other than that I'm gonna wait until my daughter decides she likes it ( who wouldn't ) and see what she wants to do. In a few years when she is ready to upgrade, its mine! I looked online at all the custom HHR's and they are awesome. Love the 2 tones, graphics, retro looks but being a 20 yr old she may want to keep it simple.

I have my own project/new toy. I bought a very clean original 84" K5 Blazer. I want to drop an LS drivetrain in it and make it my daily ride. If it wasn't for that I would be buying the Black SS that's listed on the site. That would be a fun daily driver. Thanks again,

Just for the fuel mileage, park the K5 for Saturday morning fishing trips and get the Black SS for your DD.
It’ll be more cost effective then dropping an LS into the K5.’

I’m old school
A brand new Corvette?
Or a used ‘vette, used 1/2 ton short box pick ‘em up, used HHR SS.
Seeing as how the Or line would probably be much less then the A line, I’d consider that
Priceless!

Body damage repaired, rear spoiler added and after many hours of detailing here is the final product.
