NEWBIE TO HHR's!!!!

1st Off just wanted to say... This Forum has Awesome information . 2nd until 2 weeks ago i never really cared for the HHR's till i found out they made A "SS" and i fell in love with the ground effects and the black front screens! Then to find out they made 'em TURBO! I instantly began Youtubing as i do with all vehicles i want to buy (for exhaust, performance, looks purpose) ...I Debated on 2010 Black Manual trans .. and a 2008 RED AUTO with Black/RED interior at a local deal... tested both. manual sounded meaner (mostly the decel sound) but being in a busy city i decided to go with the 08 RED SS... and the RED BLACK INTERIOR JUST WOULDNT GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!! so i bought it...

so it was last week i bought it, realized even though its peppy, WHY NOT GET THE FULL warranty covered UPGRADE TURBO KIT. SO i did research and because of someone on here i found enginecratedepot.com (think that is it) had a sale for $465!!! which found others for 475, 650 and my dealer before price matching GMDIRECT.COM wanted 740!!!!! haha... well i got it in mail yesterday and had local shop installl it today.. unfortunately it was rush hour when i picked it up but it has some pull for sure.. almost makes the engine feel "bulkier" in a good way haha...

so anyways so far just THANK YOU for the info, opinions and reviews and i hope to get to enjoy many more mods and info later!!!

my name is jeremy from macomb twp in michigan eastside...

here are a couple pics i thought i'd share

I have always liked the red interior, good choice. You should have gotten the stick though, it's loads of fun, especially engine braking.

in all honesty too i can run the Crap out of my sportbike all day long... and drive semi trucks no problem... but when it comes to cars and "STICKS" i dont have the eye hand, foot coordination! HAHAHA

i test drove that 2010 hhr ss and practiced in parking lot no problems piece of cake... so i said "lets go street".... haha left lot in 1st... totally forgot it was the stick... rev limited it in 1st hahaha... finally realized and shifted........

did good for while then jumped on free way. loved it... got off free way... stopped at light.. realized i went to 3rd rather then 1st haha so i slipped clutch and didnt stall it out... but pulled into dealer... smelled some hot Clutch action!! HHAHAHA

so lets just make it easier and stick with auto for now.... hahahahaha

and to the man or women who buy that 2010 HHR manual trans with 12 miles on it but 2,000 miles on clutch already IM SORRY! hhahaha

I find myself in the work truck ( 1 ton Chevy bucket truck ) mindlessly looking for the clutch with my left foot at times. I rarely use the clutch on the bike, a Triumph 675, and go mainly off of sound, but I need to see the speedo ( on the RPD since the stock one sucks ) to downshift smoothly. I think I'll need to learn new spots to shift now that I have the GMPP kit in it.

Really! What are the chances of that!?! I could start talking about fishing or something and then you could be double hijacked!

Anywhoooo... Welcome to the forum and to the Victory Red HHR SS club! It is a very elite status that not just everyone can understand! Your gonna love that turbo upgrade kit when you find those open roads!
