Taking delivery today

Warning, be prepared for some text.

Hi all, today after work I take delivery of a 09 HHR SS victory red, perf. pkge, sunroof with pioneer system, red/blk interior. It was quite a journey to get here. Me and the wife started off looking at a Pontiac G8 GXP in NC (we live in Alabama). The car is very hard to find because only 1829 were brought in country. Well in the end we found out from our local dealer (where we got our HHR SS) that the dealership in NC lied to us and didn't even check on financing. How do we know this, we realized this once we found out that the dealer had to have all my mother in laws info to apply the GM employe pricing for the HHR SS (the dealer in NC gave us the run around for an entire week on financing and never asked for her info).

So then we decided on the HHR SS with solid rear quarter panel (after the G* GXP fell through). There was 1 in 300 miles, guess where again, NC. Our dealer called them and the sales manager in NC said he might have a buyer if he didn't it was ours, of course we were excited. Well the next day we call the dealership, and get the secretary on the phone to check on the status of the HHR SS and she says it was still there and available for sale, but the sales manager was out. My dealership tried the entire day to call, fax and get a hold of the sales manager there and finally told us they weren't willing to deal. What the hell is up with NC dealerships, thats 2 dealerships that were complete crap within 1 week. On to how we ended up with our current HHR SS.

Me and the wife had looked around for a regular HHR SS (now that the quarter panel delete was out of the question) our area targeting big cities like Nashville, Birmingham, Montegomery, Atlanta and found 1 5 speed that had perf. pkge, sunroof, pioneer stereo, and no roof rail. Sure we found a few other 5 spds but no LSD (why would you get a perf 5 spd vehicle w/o LSD is beyond me) and they had roof rails Well glad to say we found one outside of Nashville and the dealer there was great, they traded the HHR SS for a Z71 off road from my dealer and we will have it tonight.

Before anyone asks about why we didn't order a HHR SS w/ rear solid panel, the dealer checked for us. You can only order 2010 models right now and you do not get the $2,000 rebate off of those. I wasn't going to lose $2,000 dollars for a $185 option, even as much as I liked it. I even checked ebay it seems all the HHR SS on ebay are in Cali, when I searched within 1500 miles of me 4 HHR SS's from dealers were on there, but as soon as I hit 2000 miles about 5 pages came up all from Cali (I found this a little of a shock).

Anyways I already bought my gm stage 1 to put on for a great price $385 with $12 shipping. I also learned a lesson, don't deal with NC dealers. Thanks for all the info on the site that I ahve been reading over the last week.

I didn't think the stage one worked for 2010 models yet.
