Yes the Ecotec is an interference engine.

But, since the Ecotec engine has a timing chain setup and not a timing belt, then I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

yes my boss said it had a timing chain and insted of a timing belt it's his car I'm just checking on it for
him.
