It’s been awhile!
It's been a while since I've posted here....6/20/12 to be exact.
Still have 07 LT.....it now has 206k miles on it.
I ended up buying another one. A 2009 that has
89k on it.
Yes.....almost identical twinzies.

A nice brace of HHR's you have there!
I enjoyed my 2009 LS for 5 years- Tomorrow it's going to a new owner- only 77,000 miles. In five years I only needed oil changes, tire rotations, wiper blades and an air filter. All the air pressure transducers have failed.
I switched to a 2002 Chevy Avalanche, leather, towing and Z66 pkg- 142K miles, $4800- estate sale and mechanic owned. Next up, we are looking for a 25-27 ft camping trailer to take out west and do the extended vacation that we never could do, because I was working 6 days a week at a Chrysler plant.
The map is plotted, Ft Myers, FL , all the way to Vancouver, WA to see my sister. I still remember, "See the USA in your Chevrolet!"
adios,
Mark

................reviving an old thread for sure. Just decided to add to this one instead of creating a new one.
A year and a few days after I purchased my 2009...............I have sold my 2007.
It went to a young couple with a baby who's kinda in a pickle with the Covid crap. They used their money to purchase their new family car. I have to say, Chubbs (child haulin urban bit$h buggy) has been an excellent vehicle. I have been one of the lucky ones as I have had absolutely no issues with him. The original starter and alt are still on it. I swear, fluids, tires, batteries, basic suspension crap that wears out is all I have ever had to do with him. Chubbs was my family vehicle for almost 7 years and has hauled a whopping amount of crap including a total of 42ea 8ft 2x4's at once and a few full frame doors in it. Lawn mowers, automotive engines and parts, transmissions.....I even put a tarp down and went and got mulch in it. To say the least, the best thing I have done for my 2009 was a hitch and a small trailer.
Anyways....I absolutely love my HHR's. Sure there are major issues with these things, sure I may never get to own an SS, sure my 2009 may blow up tomorrow. The thing is, these are simple to work on and parts aren't that expensive. I plan on gathering up another motor and trans either "new/rebuilt" or do it on my own pending time. That is the only BIG problem I believe I will have as I try to keep my 2009 for another 20yrs or life if possible. Once those are acquired and ready to go I can start finding replacement panels for future and other small "im sure this will break soon" type items. You know, like interior door handles. (stupid people)
Of course my biggest hurtle of life is.......finishing other projects first so I have time to make this one a completed project about the time it becomes a legal antique.
