Angry About the Religion frictions here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, fist of all you should know something about me. I am extremely religious myself. I go to church every Sunday and the Lord is what helps me make it trough each day. (Funny how you did not know that since I don’t push my beliefs on anyone. As the admin, I am 100% unbiased...all the time)

That being in the open, I have nothing against any religion. I gave the guys permission to post the “Upper Room” topic (he asked me about it first)

Now, the ONLY reason I closed that thread is because of personal attacks. Read the site rules and you will see that they were violated. We do not tolerate any personal attacks, nor will we ever! The thread simply got out of hand. Apparently some people have nothing better to do than debate region on a CAR forum. I should have banned some trolls in that thread

Now, I am not here to mediate a religious debate. If I wanted to do that, I would run a religion forum. I do have responsibilities in my life, and on top of that, maintaining a site like this is a lot of extra work that I stay up late at night to accomplish. I do not have any time to waste babysitting and mediating ignorant and unconstructive arguments not even related to cars!!!

Most car forums do NOT even allow religion or politics to be discussed because people can’t respect each other in such discussions. It has been shown time and time again. Take a look at what some of the big car forums enforce:
UNACCEPTABLE POSTS
This following topics are not allowed on this message board and will be removed if posted:
Religion, politics, race/racism, abortion, highly sensitive or controversial subjects that incites arguments, promotion of illegal drugs or illegal activity, warez and software piracy, material which is exceedingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, extremely sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violate any law, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or any form of solicitation.
(from camaroz28.com used only as an example)

Do you guys want more rules here? I am extremely pleasant, open minded, and easy to get along with, but you guys are starting to push it with this religion issue. BOTH SITEDS

Do you want the site to expand with better options and more vendors? Well I wasted 3 hours with this issue. Thanks guys

As far as freedom of speech goes, who are we kidding??? There is no freedom of speech in the media (tv, radio) and certainly NOT on any private forums open to the public!!! Otherwise it would be a mess. You have freedom of speech from the government. Not on other’s property. You can surly limit anyone’s freedom of speech in your house, we can limit it on our site.

Summary:
-I am not against any topics discussed intelligently.
-I DO NOT tolerate any personal attacks on my site. Read site rules!!!!!!!!
-Most sites don’t allow religion or politics to be discussed because of the mess they crate.
-If you want to discuss controversial topics, find a forum for that topic!
-I am here to develop and expand the site for you, not to mediate fights.
-Freedoms of speech arguments are irrelevant to private forums.

I am going to leave this open for mature constructive feedback. If you even attempt to sabotage this thread, I will BAN you on the spot. FAIR?

you could tell what was going to happen as soon as Holmes posted the thread about asking you..I think there is already other BS on the site that doesn't really belong..I mean who really cares what kind of animals we all have or what our desk looks like..I am guilty of posting in some of them but since were talkn about what doesn't belong in a car forum I had to bring it up.

Good point. Tasteful off topic threads only makes the community stronger. A “pets” thread, or a “post a pics of yourself” don’t really create controversy and tensions. If you are here strictly for car talk. Stay out of the off tops sections.

They are in the lounge where you are supposed to post non HHR related threads. It may not be necessary but there is a section for it so why not.

I too am a very spiritual person, I am not a big follower of most denominations though, for reasons that would be out of place here and are really none of your business.

I can relate to both sides of this issue.

I for one am now, and always would be against a seperate forum here.

If for no other reason, and I know this is specific to Christians, but as a Christian I am NOT supposed to isolate myself. I'm supposed to do the exact opposite.I'm supposed to be in the middle of things, out in the world!

As are all who have any type of belief system, even if its not to believe in anything!

It is only through being a part of things, not apart from things, that we can ever learn tolerance and be able to bring about any change, regardless of what that is and how it is accepted.

The results are not controllable, only the effort.

This is not the place to discuss religion, it can however be a place to show our beliefs by acting accordingly.

And guess what, I can be a real @ss too. More than I can to admit.

Hope y'all have a great day!

And to steal a phrase from another belief thing of mine, "I'll keep coming back!"

I say enough is enough! This thing is going to get beat over and over. I tried to understand Holmes and everyone else, but now it's out of control. Those other people in that other group are probably laughing their butts off. As Top Dog, Jonel made a decision. That should be the end of all discussion, PERIOD.
