Not true. Photographs do not need a copyright notice on them to be protected by copyright law. All original works are copyright protected as soon as they are created. They do not need to be registered to be covered by copyright law. As long as you retain the original work, your rights will be upheld by the law.

I thought it was hosted on my site, since I posted it before I discovered that I could upload photos here. At any rate, technically I violated copyright law by using the photo without permission and the photo of the rims as well...

The original photo is hosted on my site. It is obvious the red photo was 'shopped from my original (Which I have now put our logo on). Anyone can be prosecuted for taking a photo unauthorized.

I don't like watermarking pics (with the wm imbedded across the main portion of the image), because I think people can't get a good look at the overall pic. I will continue to post my pics with our socalhhrs logo in a corner - until it becomes a larger problem.
Then I will have no choice but to watermark.

You should read the emails I got from the guy - hilarious!!!

Maybe I'll post them in the dungeon...
