Almost bought an 03 Marauder

I was so close to buying an 03 Merc Marauder this week, but just sold the day before I was going to buy it. It was an 03 Marauder with only 55k kms (33k miles) for $12,000. I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with it, but maybe share driving it with my wife......noce big car for the family of 4. Oh well, you snooze you lose, on the good ones.

I think it runs pretty much with the Impala SS as far as class goes.

Nice muscle car for a family. Sounds strange though, doesn't it?

Family muscle cars?

You sure know how is hurt us guys owning Impala SS's. As far as runs with a Impala SS's: not on a good day, or anyday for that matter, and it's a FFFFOOOORRRRRDDDDD![FixOrRepairDaily].
Bye the way, anyone want to buy a real nice 96 Impala SS? Got one for sale.

That sounds like the kind of luck I have
I like them myself, I saw one Tuesday night at college, one of the professors there was driving it, I think there sharp and I prefer the look of them over the 90's Imapala SS.

I had a black 03 - Mods to make close to 500HP and was a great daily driver. Rear air suspension and full on police package suspension, steering and cooling. Decent mileage for the power. I for one think they are bada$$ wicked. Although I like my HHR, I would have never sold the Marauder. The F Face that hit me decided that for me. I still look for them, $12k is a great price for the 03 you found.
Crown Vic platforms were one of the best cars Ford made. Marauders handled great, were airtight silent inside and I dont know anything about that fixed or repaired daily thing. Ive always had Fords (well real Fords, lol) and had nothing but good with them. To each his own.

The Merc was very similar in performance as it would run 0-60 in 7 sec just as the SS.

The weak spot was the bottom end as the engine just had little grunt till the SC built up a little boost.

I have driven both in stock form and the biggest issue was weight in both.

It will make a good collector car in the future as it looked goo but since there are so few it will be hard to restore with body trim in some areas and will always play second to the Impala SS in popularity.

The key in the future is to find one of these of an impala that someone has not monkeyed with. Often the mods can kill the value of a car like this as you can never tell how well it was done or how how much it would cost to undo some of the items. A stock car is the first choice for many collectors.

It's still a GRAND MARQUIS.

Here in NJ, the Grand Marquis is the official vehicle for the over 80 crowd. You can frequently buy them in retirement villages that are 15 years old, garage kept with 11,000 miles on them, looking like they rolled out of the showroom. Often sold at estate sales.
