My daughter asked me to help her move from one spot in New Brunswick NJ to the othe side of town. I got the addresses to look up on Google maps to see exactly what I was in for. The Google map know shows a real route, where you can pan around and see the front of the house, pick out land marks along the way, and see every house in between the 2 points. I was simply awestruck. When I tried my own address this same feature was not available.
Does your city have this feature? The time it took to amass this information for just 1 city I can't even imagine.

 

Google calls this Street View and they are adding it to more and more cities all the time. There are many postings all around the web about the interesting (!) shots you find using street view (car accidents, people climbing fences, etc.). There are also reports all the time of Google Photo Car sitings -- people see the vehicles running around the streets with the camera apparatus attached to the roof.

 

I am an residency investigator part time for a school district, and I use it alot. I love knowing what the house in question looks like, and it helps me find a hiding spot to do surveillance.

 

I've seen pics of drug deals going down in Chicago's south side...... removed after it was linked on a few hundred message boards....
