Another Newbie
Greetings
Just joined the HHR family.
I traded in my 06 Impala SS, and I'll tell ya why.
Although the Impala was wickedly fast, I got tired of driving a hot rod that looked like every other Honda. The truth of the matter is no matter how fast, and whatever the 0 to 60 time is, I driv in NJ, can't get going fast, and my weekly average MPH is always less than 25 MPH. The HHR can meet this requirement, getting MUCH better mileage than 13 MPG. Now, the 08 HHR Panel that I bought LOOKS like a hot rod, and keeps me up to speed on NJ roads.
My 06 Impala came with a 3 yr warranty. when the 07 came out, they offered a 7 year warranty. My warranty was going to expire in 1000 miles, with 2 years of payments left, AND it had already consumed 1 transmission. It was also going to need tires & rotors very soon. So I dumped it before it became more trouble.
I plan on instantly giving my new HHR a 2 tone paint job, and although the 17" chrome wheels are nice, I really want to find a set of "old school" 5 spoke gray mags, like the American Torq thrust. The trouble is finding them for FWD. If anyone knows where to get some made up, let me know. If I can't get these, I may go to steel wheels with baby moon hubcaps, for that old timey look.
I love this panel wagon! It looks like it dropped out of a time warp from the early 50's, and sitting inside reminds me of driving around in my old freind's 55 F100.
I'm perplexed about 2 things in the interior. What's with the little overhead LED light over the rear veiw mirror? Is this to light up the window switches? Also, right next to this light is some kind of vent thingy inthe ceiling? Does this have some purpose?

awesome STORY and explanation of your decision.
I really like the look of the panel...and your wheel choice is excellent as well.
I havent talked to them about the HHR wheel availability, but 2 of my other cars also feature a hard-to-find wheel application. 2 of my other cars are weird...
they have a FWD offset(+37mm) with a 5x108mm(5x4.25) bolt pattern...easy to find, yet hard to decide on style...
Like I said, I have yet to check in to my HHR's wheel fitment through this company, but never the less

enjoy the new toy...and WELCOME to the coolest HHR site on the net.

Fellow panel owner! Check out : wheelvintiques.com and mooneyes.com. They both have old school wheels to fit our HHRs. I think foose has a wheel that looks just like a torque thrust, only polished all over, not gray in the center. I've seen them on a G6 so I know they'll fit.

I don't think ARE makes the Torque Thrust to fit our vehicles. Here is one similar, Its called Carroll Shelby Razor.
