I am getting a late start on setting up my front yards CEMETARY

This is a pic of the real wrought iron garden fencing that I use.

I have bought a ton of stuff over the years most only last a season or two before a storm destroys them. Most arent made for true outdoor use.

I use 4-6 fog machines, a few strobe lights a few black lights sound effects.

I have Several lifesized props a flying crank ghost and other stuff.

I bought a webshooter airgun (Hotmelt glue gun and air compressor hookup) to shoot more realistic Spider Webs. Look Closely at the pics and you can see some of the "webs" I shot over the power lines in the back yard as a Test.

I have a dozen large spiders I set up crawling all over the fencing so the air gun will look better and be faster than stretching out the fluffy web stuff you can buy.

This is just the very beginning stages of setting up so far.

For a number of years I wanted to do something really elaborate for Halloween, much in line with what Roseanne (from the old sit-com) did for their Halloween shows. Even though I do not live in a senior area, there are no kids to enjoy my efforts. So I don't even provide any "goodies". For about 20 years I would purchase candy and other stuff, only for it to go to waste (can't eat the stuff myself....I'm diabetic). About 10 years of that, I just put it in a big bowl on a table in the drive, for kids to help themselves. Alas, none was taken. So about 3 years ago, I just gave up.

I do envy you and others who can do this. Nice work, by the way.

 

Yeah, we always buy candy, and no one comes. So we just eat it ourselves. Now we just buy the candy, but we don't even try to hand any out. It's all for us!

Having 4 kids, I started doing it for them.

As they get older, it's Harder to get them to Help out.

They lead such Busy lives ya know. (Teens)

My youngest is 8 so I am doing it this year for her.

The Roseann Halloween shows were always good.

Politics has Ruined Halloween, only letting kids Trick or Treat 2-3 hours at a certain time and Before dusk even.

Heck when we were kids we'd be out Trick or Treating the second we got home if it was a school day until 10-11 PM and would come home only to empty our bags or change costumes to hit up the local pizza place for another free slice of pizza or free fries! LOL

 

Yeah, but now the kids go out and set fire to abandoned homes...

 

They have that "special trick or teat" time here, usually right after church on Sunday...... (doesn't matter what the REAL day is) gotta get "holy" first I guess and not have time to put on a good costume. All kids must be with parents, and no kids over a certain age. They also can't knock on doors, they can only approach your house if you are sitting out on the porch with candy. People on the porch can't be in costume either. Leave it to say they killed all hollows eve in this town...........

If I tried to set up that gate in my front yard here the zoning commission would be all over me with fines...

Once upon a time Chris and I used to go all out for Halloween. It would be nothing for each of us to spend a couple of hundred dollars on a costume. We had a huge array of body parts, mannequins, etc. There were some kids that didn't want to come to our house regardless of what kind of candy we were passing out because they were too scared. Now we just don't have any time to do it but we both still LOVE Halloween Don't have any pics of the yard/house decorated but here our some of our costumes from the past couple of years:

 

kid came home one year talking about how some in his school were saying Leprechans (NOT the horror movie version) were evil one St. Patrics Day ... but I could get holy for weeks ...so

Instead lets just say that Halloween is NOT the devils birthday (I hear that at leats once a year around here and makes me seriously want to punch whomever says it in the throat) and I cant help but wonder if anyone is capable of thinking for themselves... Truth is It is a wonderful Holiday and a Missed opportunity to meet, Greet, and get to know the generosity and kindness of neighbors If your afraid Jesus will get pissed ...well dress the kid up as an angel or prophet or something.

Our parties are all adult ....usually go from 6pm or 7pm till when the hell ever , we encourage everyone to bring PJ's , get loose , have a great time and crash here so you live for me to sell back the compromising photos and negatives ...for a nominal fee of course ... we usually clear out kids and now I have two empyt rooms ans sleeping bags futons and inflatable mattresses up the wazzoo... I usually make everyone a big breakfast in the AM. we cook for about a week ahead of the date ( usually the closest Sat. to Actual Halloween the ones in november are really cool cause all the props , costumes , and junk is like half to 3/4 off retail ...we drop about 3-5 bills in booze and just have a great time
