Another thing to watch for is the shops minimum fee. They don't care if the piece is 1/2" x 1/2" you're paying their fee. Around here at some shops it’s in the $50 - $75 range but at others its $150 - $200 range. The price can vary a lot from shop to shop. Some artist will charge you by blocks of time rather than by piece too. Especially in the case of larger tattoos like my right arm sleeve. Right now I'm about 18 hours into it and get it done in three hour sittings which I pay for each time rather that paying x amount of dollars for the whole piece. I'm at $1800 of ink in my right arm alone.

notice...i was the only one to give you a price. i knew it would be closer to 150.

why get such a basic piece. what kinda shop is it? as soon as you walk out will they put that piece on another 20 women that see it?
when you were here, you should have gone to Mr.Lucky's tattoo and talked to weldon. its an hourly charge, but he is the man

But that is the beauty of a tattoo...beauty is in the eye of the beholder and pretty much a personal preference...that tat holds a special meaning

I'll be interested in seeing what the shop comes up with based on that design

Talked with the artist on Saturday....he said he has some good ideas on what to do with the design to make it less "cartoony" Seems like a great shop that does quite a bit of business...and looked very clean (smelled clean also)
