The only hope to prevent it would be government regulators that can block it based on antitrust laws or the UAW.

It will just be an AMC comany when it is all done. One North American car company (Ford will be bought yet and rolled into that too, wait and see) that will specialize in all the other American cars as models of this merged company.

I mean long term i think both would benefit GM would get the 11 Billion+ Profits and Cerberus would get the Cash from Financing.

So Gm gets what they really want and so does Cerberus. I don't think they would get the credit backing right now to do it, unless the Gov't liked it and helped them out. Then again the Gov't might put a end to all talks too.

 

I just checked Ford's balance sheet on Yahoo Finance. They have $22 billion in cash.

Reported this morning on Yahoo. Some one close to the talks know says Chrysler maybe sold in piece's to different compaines.

Which means GM will want the Cash,Jeep, Possibly Minivan platform or Cummings

The truth is GM wants the 11 Billion in Cash Chysler has as well as $10 Billion from the Goverment.

Thereis a lot of specuilation on what GM would do with what is left of Chrysler.

Also Nissan may figure in on part of the deal.

 

Like hyperv6 said, they really only want the cash.

Possible scenario:

Dodge Truck then gets sold to Mahindra or Tata to raise even more cash. Jeep might stay with GM if the Hummer brand is sold. The rest of Chrysler LLC is gutted, scrapped, and sold off to raise as much cash as possible.
