Yeah, the Saudis.
Our "friends" !
Fourtteen of the Nineteen were Saudis. They like us a WHOLE LOT!

And yes, I do realise they also hunt Al Quaeda. Unfortunatley this whole affair is quite complicted and not easily solved by the killing of one man, or one country, or one people.
The US is the most generous country in the world with money and aid to others. We can also deal out death like no one else if we wish. A two sided coin as it were.......
Very complicated mess here......................................
As I like to say in political threads,
"No good will come of this.........."

And before anyone brings up their thoughts on whether or not the Saudis would do anything - the Saudis are perhaps the only people more pissed off at Bin Laden than us, they have been actively tracking down Al Quaeda in Saudi Arabia and KILLING them. And if the Saudis take care of him, no martyrdom issues.
I wouldn't say that the people of Saudi are pissed off ..more like the royal family is embarassed that a hometown boy would do this. Most of the Saudi's dislike us Americans and have been monetary contributors to Terrorist organizations.

I think amputation of one body part after the other, one toe,two toe, one foot, two foot, lower leg. Then upper, fingers one at a time, hand, lower arm, upper arm. Private member, in three parts, Then beheaded. All without pain meds nor sedation. Oh yes, stop the bleeding he needs to be awake for each amputation. Do one a day.

Please let's not bring in that he's Muslim. He's an extremist in his religion just like there are extremist in just about every religion that kill for their god. The man deserves to die regardless of his religious beliefs. I don't think there is anything you can do to help keep him out of his heaven because only his god can judge him, just like only your god can judge you. From what I understand Allah will frown on his actions. I'm sure his actions lead to the death of many innocent Muslims along with everyone else. People who had families just like you and me that weren't martyrs for their religion and wouldn't agree with the deaths of Americans because they were Americans. As Americans we are every religion and every race of people!

CH, I didn't mean to imply anything bad about Muslims. I re-read my post and it sounded a little harsher than it should have, so I deleted it. I don't have anything against Muslims, I was just saying that would be a good punishment, since it would violate his religious beliefs. The news brings up all the time that this is a religious war for the terrorists. I think that is BS, but if they want to think like that, we should make any punishment go against their religious beliefs. That's the only way to stop this thing. I'm truly sorry if my post sounded at all like I'm downing the Muslim faith. I just intended to down anyone who uses their religion to justify terrrorist acts. I would have felt the same way toward the Christians during the Crusades, had I been alive then.

In all honesty I wasn't trying to turn it into a muslim thing either. But when you think about it, isnt that what the muslims are doing..?? I don't hear any other religions calling for the killing of jews, christians, Americans etc. Not to mention the fact that they kill each other just because of their individual muslim beliefs, shiite, sunni etc. I haven't heard of the catholics calling for the killing of baptists. Or methodist killing prodestant... And yes I do remember the Crusades, as mentioned above... I'm not saying that was right, but this generation IS NOT responsible for what happened 800 YEARS AGO... No matter how you look at it, it all changed on 9-11-01.

NO WAY TO DENY IT...!!

Just to clarify....they like to call it a "religious war" because it sounds like their killing others for some higher cause. In fact, they kill in hatred. Societies throughout history have used religion as a reason to kill the people they hate. You can hate someone because they have different beliefs than you, but the fact that they hide their true motives behind religion is sickening. Let's call it what it really is....sick human nature. Whatever you believe about the after life, everyone WILL answer for the things they have done in some way.

No, Oh Handsome one , I was refering to martyrdom in the sense that he would be considered a martyr by the rest of Al Quaeda and other extremist groups if he were killed by us or other westerners - thereby aiding recruiting.

Being tried by an Islamic court and being beheaded (the traditional execution method in Saudi) would send a message that at least some of Islam does not support their actions.

all ppl kill in the name of religion... but in this case the extremist muslims say that the koran tells them that they should kill infidels, and its justified...

the crusades, yea the catholics/christians killed in the name of religion, but its was them who wanted to get the holy land back, it wasnt cuz the bible said kill them or they mis-read a passage that said something to that effect...(if im wrong on that please correect me)

but if bin-laden is guilty so is Dubya, and some of them higher ups....we do need a conspiracy thread

He is doing the same thing extremist Christian groups do. Taking his sacred holy text misquoting and twisting the words to support his causes and beliefs. It really has nothing to do with his religion, he's just using that to hide behind and rally people to support him. A lot of our understanding of the Qur'an comes from translated versions anyways so we will never have a true understanding it without learning the Arabic language and reading the non-translated script.
