Thoughts/opinions?

I think its hilarious if you don't take yourself too seriously. EVERYBODY gets some in this movie, but its a special kind of satire.

I can appreciate its humor because he himself is not the joke, but WE are. He does a great job of holding up the mirror and showing people just how rediculous they look when they perpetuate these sterotypes.

Many people are upset over it, which is also respected. What did you all think?

 

For some reason, he annoys me alot. I think it's the accent and broken english.

I haven't got a chance to see it yet but I love Sacha Baron Cohen's style of comedy.

 

I havent seen it yet but its on my list...I think it looks like a pretty good movie.

 

My friends and I saw it opening night. Wickedly funny. Great movie.

I know the Kazakhstanis find the Borat character offensive. I think a lot of people don't quite "get" Sacha Baron Cohen's comedy. I have been a huge fan since back in the day but I noticed most other people either find him totally stupid or just don't understand what's supposed to be funny.

borat comes out in that if his name is even borat in the series...

i guess some ppl just dont have a sence of humor or a very very very dry one, and dont get different types of comedy

 

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I've seen everything else Cohen's done as Borat. This stuff is hilarious!!! I'm also a huge fan of the Chappelle Show and Mind of Mencia - being in the minority myself, I think this stuff teaches us two things: 1) We have to learn to laugh at ourselves as a society; and 2) There has always been (and will always be) hilarity (and a grain of truth) in stereotypes.

P.S. You can also go to video google and type in "Borat" in your search - all sorts of hilarious videos come up.
