Bristol Race

How many here were at Bristol for the race Saturday night? If you were there, or watched it on TV, what did you think? I went, and I really think it was the best race I have ever seen at Bristol. Imagine the first 125 laps without a caution. Then a little over 200 laps before the next caution. I like the new track surface. Better racing now and less wrecks. I was listening to some of the drivers on my scanner, and there was some intense stratagy going on. Always before, they planned on pitting for the 20 cautions. It really was a good race.

It sure wasn't the usual Bristol type race. One of these years I want to go there for the night race.

I missed the race and I don't want to see anyone hurt but wrecking is part of Bristol racing!

In fact one of the best races I ever saw was the one where Earnhardt "love tapped" Terry LaBonte on the last lap to win

I'm not a huge NASCAR fan, but I caught a bit of it on TV (flipping between it and the Rolex race on SPEED).

I was amazed by how big the grandstands were and how packed they were.

165,000 people were there. It was a great race. I think it is two weeks that we get to go drive on the track with our HHR's. I have driven it on the old surface, so I'm anxoious to drive it on the new surface. I remember the old surface was a little rough in places.

Irwindale speedway in Irwindale California has had the graduted banking for about 5 years. Its really great. If you want to have a great weekend of 1/2 mile banked racing week end come on out and see the Toyota Nascar All Star Race.
Its really great. I have seen them race 4 wide for up to 5 laps and not wreck.
Great racing.

I watched it on TV and thought it was a great race. I couldn't believe people were saying it was boring. Yea it didn't have the wrecks common at bristol, but it was still a very entertaining race. Congrats to Carl Edwards.

I watched some of it on TV...but I fell asleep and missed the end. I woke up at 4am Saturday morning and was exhausted and fell asleep laying on the couch. What I did see looked awesome...3 racing grooves at Bristol is something to behold. Looks to me like they improved an already great race.
