Buying a new car bumps

Kicked it around to buy something newer.
Doesn't matter what brand, but anything you just want is always a package involved.
Just want remote start (package).
Just want drivers lumbar seat (package).
Also this "almost" mandatory self stop/start included thing.
I say "also" because there is no manual way to shut it of in the 2021 Equinox, but other brands I looked you can.
Welcome to the 21st century. Or is it the 22nd ?

It’s the 21st Century, and the trick to the auto shutoff , is I put the AC on , then the computer won’t shut the engine down at a stop light.
I’m getting used to it, we’ve owned the Terrain nearly 2 years and driven it , 12,500 klms or 7,767 miles! COVID-19 we can’t go far!

There are some different work-arounds to get past this, so they say on the "Nox forum..

Trifecta had an over ride program, but it’s permanent, can’t be reversed.

My wife's 2016 Encore has it. I really hated it at first. But you do get used to it. Since I've been working from home I drive her car a lot more and I don't really even notice the stop/start anymore.

The start stop thing really isn't what the subject was about.
It's wanting only certain items in a car and now you are "forced" to get things with it.
Back in the day you could get the only thing you wanted and nothing more.
It was called options.

Those days are long gone, our Terrain has the SLE package then the Professional series package, which gives us the huge sunroof, heated seats, upgraded infotainment system. And such, I think I would not have ordered half of the options on it , but they are sure nice to have .

I run my 2018 Equinox in "L" and set the selector with +on shift knob to 6 or 9th gear, when driving in the city as it over rides the stop/start function.
Hope this helps.

Yes I've seen that shown on different YouTubes.
Don't know if it's true today but a few years back in Ford pickups if you just installed a trailer plug into the receptacle and the vehicle would think you're pulling a trailer and shut that option off.
