Question Cadillac CTS-V

QUESTION - What is the general opinion of the Cadillac CTS-V? I recently bought a used one for my mother, fully loaded with the supercharged 6.2L V8. She likes it but I am optimistically cautious that it might be too much car. Don't get me wrong, it is nice but 500bhp for a 70 year old grandmother?

Yup!, she has a leadfoot. But she knows how to work it. I was not looking for this much car but it was a deal I just could not pass up. I'm still waiting for her to let me drive it!

She has been driving the ubiqiutous "Granny Vans" for the last 20 years, so I decided she needed an upgrade to a more appropriate vehicle for her age. I just did not expect to find something like this. As for capabilities, she used to race open wheel with her brothers when she was in her 20's and my dad taught her how to drive GP, GT, and Trans Am. My dad raced a Ferrari 365 GTB4 until he put it into a wall at 140Mph.

The 400 hp models are very reasonably priced ($19 to $24k around here) on the used car market, and would have a lot of potential I would think. The new 565 hp is super cool (but pricey) and has the potential to easily bump up to 650 hp. Can you imagine if you told someone 10 or 15 years ago that you would one day be able to buy a 600 hp good handling Cadillac? Very cool granny car, hey once a racer, always a racer.
