Two good quotes I find fitting:

Never give up, never give in, and when the upper hand is ours, may we have the ability to handle the win with the dignity that we absorbed the loss. - Doug Williams

Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt. - Special Olympics Motto

Funny - I was listening to Jim Rome today and he pointed out what great sports the Canadians were - gracious. He then chastized a US person who took a swipe at the Canadians. I sure don't see much "graciousness" on this site. We won, you won. Very nice. But, for the record - were you on the floor yesterday? Unless you know how to play hockey and were part of the success, I'd suggest you get some class.

Canada Kickin Butt since 1812

The defeat of the U.S. in the War of 1812 sounds alot like Sunday`s game.

The American failure to take Canada was the result of exceptionally poor leadership both at the National and local levels. The resources available were never properly apllied with skill and daring. While the Militia system could provide the raw numbers and equipment, it could not provide the initiative necessary to bring those number to the battlefield where it counted. All to often political Generals retreated in the face of inferior numbers or failed to coordinate their movements in such a manner as to render any defense quite difficult. On the few occasions when forces of equal military standing faced off across the the field the Americans gave as good as they got. The British and their Canadian supporters performed outstandingly. The repulse of the American invasion was something all Canadians can look to with pride.

You Canadians are delusional and some real arrogant mofo's, no wonder the rest of the world ignores you except for the winter Olympic games. The only thing Canada has going for it is you border the USA.

Pot-Kettle-Black

The border thing is actually our biggest hinderance. We get too much negative association as a result of our geographic relation with you guys.

Canada has a fine international relationship with most, if not all, countries.

Just think how much you would pay for your gas if all your oil came overseas.

The top five sources of US crude oil imports for December were Canada (2.051 million barrels per day), Mexico (1.063 million barrels per day), Nigeria (1.020 million barrels per day), Saudi Arabia (0.886 million barrels per day), and Venezuela (0.772 million barrels per day). The rest of the top ten sources, in order, were Algeria (0.336 million barrels per day), Iraq (0.325) million barrels per day), Angola (0.266 million barrels per day), Brazil (0.181 million barrels per day), and Colombia (0.179 million barrels per day).
Canada remained the largest exporter of total petroleum in December, exporting 2.649 million barrels per day to the United States, which is an increase from last month (2.527 thousand barrels per day).

Canada is the largest foreign supplier to the US of all forms of power generation – oil and gas, uranium and, of course, electricity. (More than $125B in exports annually.)

Electricity trade, primarily hydropower from Canada to the US, is a key element of this unique market. It is cheap, abundant and clean.

I believe I saw a History Channel show that stated Canada does a lot of diamond and salt mining too. I thought that to be interesting.

Note to ALL:

Both the USA and Canada are great countries. Everyone should realize that. And each country has great citizens and bobo's. Variety is the spice of life and what a bore it would be if we were all the same and thought the same.

I believe there's been enough bashing on both sides. Congrats to both teams for great games and performances.

Potash (~half of worldwide production)
Nickel (~quarter of worldwide production)
Bauxite
Gold (~10% of worldwide production)
Molybdenum (~10% of worldwide production)
Cooper (~10% of worldwide production)
Coal
