I've had a couple of cats in my life. Since getting out of the military, getting married, we found a stray kitten around 1976, She stuck around longer than the wife. Around 1986, I inherited another cat and had her for 17 years. The hardest thing I ever had to do was to put her down. She must have been nealy 20 years old by that time and in poor health at that time.

That is the one unfortunate constant with pets...their time with us is all too short.
I see myself getting another cat soon...house just don't seem right without one in it. Once my wife and I settle down in a place with a bigger area and yard a pooch will make it's way into our lives as well
