Exclamation CAW forced to stop blockade...

The courts ruled that the CAW remove the blockade at Oshawa's GM headquarters by 7am Monday June 16/08. GM has a $1.5 million law suit against CAW because of the blockade. CAW has responded with other types of retaliation to GM by not following through on an agreement signed earlier. The CAW charges that job security was violated by GM that had agreed to the contract. 1500 union members for several different unions marched in protest on Park Rd. in Oshawa. Park Rd. is where the car and truck plants are located.

And yet the blockade in Caledonia goes on and on. When will our senseless liberal Govt. have the balls to stand up for the regular people who pay taxes in this province I will never understand!

It appears that the people who elected the liberal ruling class are getting just what they want. A government who will give them a secure job paid for by the industries who build products that don't sell or by higher taxes that those who do work can no longer afford. Didn't the USSR fail for that very reason? Government subsidies don't work either for industry nor for those people who have nothing worthwhile to offer to the work force or society.

It is time for some new elections in Canada and throw the bums out.

The free money for life people exist in the states, where people want someone else to pay for all their needs. While it sounds good, someone still needs to pay for it, usually higher taxes. Obama?

So, out of curiousity.....what was the explained basis for the ruling? On the surface, the court appears to have the power and right.

And please don't give the "union" explanation OR the "GM" explanation. What did the court say???

GM's filing of $1.5million on the CAW has not been opened as GM has not decided whether to go ahead with it yet. Still up in the air. I think there is a time limit if GM does follow through.

Indeed and they just elected the same here. Only this guy has zero executive experience or record running even a small town or neighbor hood store. His claim to fame was suing banks to make sub prime loans to those who could not afford to pay them back representing an organization called ACORN. But, hey, he has a great "smile" and can "read well" and as his VP said..."He's clean". Amazing...... The US of us are getting what we deserve as well. The CAW or the UAW are in no position to make demands on GM.

and just as bad as his Governor and in the minority as most of us think we will have a great President. The current party in power has just about sunk this great country so how could he do any worse? It's going to be a long up hill battle to undo what the Bush idiots have done to us but he is chosing some great people. Hopefully they won't be oil people and I also hope they investigate those banks that knownly gave out all those bad loans and then sold them off as that was fraud if I have ever seen it.
