Nine firefighters ( yes, 9 ) were killed last evening looking for trapped victims in a burning furniture warehouse/store in Charleston, SC. My heart goes out to the families who lost loved ones, the Charleston Fire Department, the residents of Charleston, for such a tragic loss. To any members here from Charleston, the same to you. It'll be tough, but everyone will get through it. Just be sure to show your support for these incredible heroes.

So SORRY to hear that! I Thank any type of Service Person, no matter in the Service, Police, Sheriff, including in the Medical Field.
All at one time or another give their lives so someone else can live. Not on purpose, but in the line of Duty.
My thoughts go out to the familys.

It's always sad when we lose our heros.
My deepest sympathies go out to all their families.

That is tragic. I was just in Charleston all last week on vacation. It is such a great place. I really hate to hear about the firefighters. HATS OFF AND PEACE TO THE FAMILIES.

The fire was huge. You could see the glow at my house. They say in Ladson, it you could really tell. I had to go to a dealership to sign for a new car and drove by the store. It's a mess. It was a huge warehouse. There are signs all over the area for support for the familes already.

My father was a Member of the NYPD for 25 years. My heart goes out to all FD and PD family members who have lost loved ones in the line of duty...RIP.

I went to high school with one of the lost fire fighters. Haven't seen him in years but I still am very sad about his loss. I'm sad about all 9. That fire was huge and could have much, much worse. The fire fighters did an amazing job that can't be explained in words. My heart goes out to all of the families and thank you so much to every fire fighter.

RIP Louis Mulkey.
