Chevrolet needs to make.....

Chevy need to make a version of their own simular to the Solstice GXP/Sky Redline. I'm a harcore chevy Guy owning a 72 Chevy chevelle and a 06 hhr and would love to see a Chevy version for a possible new toy and some what new Muscle sport. I keep tossing around the idea of getting a sky redline at the age of 21(better insurance rates and hopefully gain some points back on my license). I figure its okay cuz its a GM product but Would love it to be a CHEVY even more.
Any one else feel the same?

The downside of the Solstice/Sky is there is no storage room. No trunk room and small passenger compartment. My 20 year old Pontiac Fiero has more storage room and more passenger room. So whether the car is badged as a Chevy, Pontiac or Saturn, it is the same too small car.
yes the car is small but it would fit the purposes of drop top driving, crusing, and rear wheel drive roadster fun. if i need room to carry people and storage and what not i'll just jump in my hhr. or feel the need of classic muscle theres my chevelle for that.
And yes i have realize the Corvette is always there and a much better choice, but i was thinking something 20 grand cheaper would be nice and different.

Actually, you can get a Corvette that's only 6 or 7 years old cheaper than a Solstice/Sky and you'll get twice the car!
Rumor has it that the Solstice/Sky production will be moved to Bowling Green, KY and Chevrolet will get it's own version of the small roadster when Corvette gets spun off into it's own brand at the next redesign in 2012.

the Solstice/Sky is actually a re-skinned Vauxhall VX220....a Europ. car with GM power...so if Chevy put their badge on one, they'd be competing with themselves...since technically "Chevy" is GM...as is Pontiac, and Saturn...

the thing is, is that GM had to much product overlap, too many of the same chasis, engine/tranny combos. saturn was having some sale issues in recent years along with pontiac, thats why these cars as badged as such, chevy is coming out with the new camaro which will also be available in a convt, if you can't wait, the sky and the solstice are pretty nice little roadsters, they beat up the miata, if you get one, make sure to get a limited slip diff, nice option on those cars, i think that option is standard on the gxp/redline versions.
