The advice that my late mother gave me when I was young. "You can have any car you can afford". Isn't the Equinox a big boat of an SUV and expensive to feed?

Me and my wife have an 05' w/ just over 60k miles now and it has been a good vehicle for us. The only problem was the PCM went bad and had to be replaced.

It's not a big SUV at all. I had a neighbor with one, and he said the mileage sucked on it.

I think theyre great little suvs. I work at a rental car company and had one in during the winter. It was great in the snow, lets put it this way we had to put some extra cars in a lot that doesnt get plowed and we got a Toyota Tundra pickup truck stuck and the Equinox didnt even hesitate it just plowed through it, it was great. I thought about buying one.

my inlaws have one (we're a big chevy family, aveo, hhr, tracker, cobalt, equinox) and i have driven it, honestly not a fan.

To me it feels really cheap inside, seems oddly spacy. Like it feels like an empty room, not comfortable. Didn't like the seats. And it sucks gas down. When they come to see us they got 19mpg, if i go see them, or on my way back I can hit 30.

I don't know the approximate price, but if i was going for a vehicle in similar size and everything I would go with a Saturn Vue. My sister has one, and a few other people I know. Really nice car, feels like a lot more luxury then the Equinox (although i think the prices are similar, no?). Close to the same (bad) mileage though.

Just my 2 cents.

I had one for a few weeks the last time the HHR was in the shop.

I drove it easy and still combined city highway driving was only 17mpg.

Gm makes bigger ones with V8 that gets better

After getting use to the handling on my SS I thought the Equinox was going to tip over on some turns!

I beleive the 2010 Chevy Equinox with will have the same 2.4L Ecotec offered as an option for HHRs.
