Calendar Shot in Iconic New York City Locations is Latest Extension of Marketing Partnership Between Chevrolet, City of New York and Country Music Association

NEW YORK - The second annual "Chevy -- Year in Country Music" calendar is hitting newsstands in October, featuring some of Country Music's hottest stars paired with Chevy's latest cars and trucks. The 2006 calendar showcases photography shot in iconic locations in each of New York City's five boroughs.

The calendar is part of a marketing relationship announced earlier this year between Chevrolet, New York City and the Country Music Association. The groundbreaking partnership is built around the CMA Awards, which this year will be held for the first time outside of Nashville when the gala takes over New York City's Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

"Chevrolet has a long history of close ties to popular music and Country Music is no exception," said Kim Kosak, Chevrolet general director of advertising and sales promotion. "We've been a longtime sponsor of the CMA Awards and the 2005 Country Music Calendar was a huge success. Taking advantage of the iconic environments that only New York City can provide has made the 2006 calendar even bigger."

The calendar, shot by photographer Ron Strong, features both established and rising Country Music stars partnered with Chevrolet's hottest vehicles. The featured pairings and locations include:

* Blue County/SSR/DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass),
Brooklyn
* Big & Rich/HHR/23rd Street, Manhattan
* Billy Currington/Colorado Crew Cab Z71/Yankee Stadium Subway Station,
Bronx
* Billy Dean/Silverado Half Ton Crew/Aqueduct Racetrack, Queens
* Cowboy Troy/Impala SS/Chinatown, Manhattan
* Erika Jo/Cobalt Coupe SS/Little Italy, Manhattan
* Montgomery Gentry/Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab/Battery Park, Manhattan
* Phil Vassar/Monte Carlo SS/Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park, Brooklyn
* Shannon Brown/Tahoe/Staten Island Ferry, Staten Island
* SHeDAISY/Equinox/NoLita, Manhattan
* Sugarland/TrailBlazer/Fort Greene, Brooklyn
* Wynonna/Corvette Z06/Times Square, Manhattan
"The city of New York is one of the most diverse and photogenic settings in the world and provided the perfect backdrop to showcase some of Country Music's most exciting artists interacting with Chevy's most popular vehicles," said Jim Donofrio, Senior Vice President of Sales and Partnerships, NYC Marketing.

The calendar will be bound in subscriber and newsstand issues of People, Country Weekly, Country Music Today and Progressive Farmer beginning in October. Chevy will also feature behind-the-scenes "making of" video of each artist later this year on chevy.com.

The calendar will also be available September 6-8 at the Chevy Music Festival in Union Square Park at the Chevy All Access Music Tour, an extensive exhibit combining rare music memorabilia, Chevy vehicles and interactive attractions. Free Country Music concerts will occur each day on the Chevy music tour stage. Chevy will also have a prominent presence in New York the week of the CMA Awards.

"New York City has welcomed the CMA Awards with open arms and the Chevy Year in Country Music calendar is the perfect vehicle to showcase our relationship with NYC and Chevrolet and generate excitement about 'Country Music's Biggest Night,'" said CMA Vice President of Strategic Marketing Rick Murray. "Each of the artists featured in the calendar exemplifies the same revolutionary spirit that Chevrolet embraces."
