Hope everyone was alright.... Both cars are totalled. The Corsica is too old and the PT Cruiser is too damaged.

Got that right.

The accident happened last summer. The female passenger in the Corsica died.

Holy cow that's scary... I'm terrified of being in a car accident, especially since I've lost friends that way.

A 16-year-old Corsica (30-year-old basic architecture) with only a driver's side airbag in an offset collision with a PT 'vert--no surprise the Corsica's passenger died. The lack of a buckled seatbelt probably didn't help. The PT's passenger compartment is intact with no intrusion--even the firewall didn't move!

I don't think it could have been a side-impact with the way the accident is described by the news wire:

The door was probably peeled open later with hydraulic jaws.

When I posted that pic I had no info on the outcome of the people I would have to agree that the passenger that died my not have been wearing her seat belt.

These a pictures of my son`s corsica after a 55 mph rollover this Oct. he never belived in seat belts and we were always fighting for him to put it on.He told me that he still wasn`t wearing seat belts most of the time but for some reason he put it on 5 minutes befor this happened. He now nows that he is alive because he buckled up that night.

There was stuff thrown 300 ft from the car into the field I glad that he was alone I think if he had all he buddies with him someone would have died. You can see in the one picture that the back seat ended up above the back window.

He walked away from this with a 2 inch scrach on his cheek the police could not belive he was walking and allright. They told him that rollovers that bad don`t have happy outcomes.
