Computer Techs.. Assemble!!

Okay... I am having a problem with my computer that I cannot fix.

I have IE7 (I think, the newest version of Internet Explorer), and a few months ago, it started to not receive new information. If I use internet explorer now, and log into chevyhhr.net, it says the last time I logged in was April 5 of this year, when in actuality, I was on here last Friday. The Yahoo page stays the same as it was on April 5, along with everything else. If I tried to post on this forum, it wouldn't recognize it or whatever, and everything is April 5. It's like Groundhog Day, but only on my internet.

So I downloaded Mozilla Firefox, and there's no problem with that browser, which is how I'm writing this. Everything's works great on Firefox. However, once the company's computer tech guy sees that I downloaded Firefox, he's going to have a bf, and I really don't want to see that. So what the problem is, yo?

Thanks in advance...

Sorry , no clue other than to state that every computer I have put IE7 on has experienced any number of maladies. So the fix was to Mozzilafy or go back to IE6. In all cases that fixed our problem and I never looked back.

Onetime I lazily uploaded the latest Microsoft security fix and put IE7 back on

Yea... I thought it might be my computers virtual memory, but that wasn't the problem. I have a 250gb alternate hard drive that I store everything on. I have no problem using Mozilla, and I'm just guessing that they don't want me to be downloading programs. I downloaded Limewire before, and they jumped my ass for that one , but that's understandable (viruses and what-have-you)...

Oh, well... I just thought I'd ask in case anybody knew.

Open IE, go to tools then internet options. Select the advanced tab. At the bottom there is a button labeled reset. This will set IE back to the defaults but it will leave your favorites alone.

If there are any incompatible add ons causing problems it will take care of it. I have fixed some major weirdness using this method.

Glad to hear it worked. I prefer Mozilla as well. IE is a big steaming pile IMHO

Yep, thanks peeps

It didn't matter to me, it's just I don't know what my employer's position is on Mozilla vs. IE.

Ours is Firefox not IE because of the security issues. IE is a target for the hackers.
