Convertible anyone?

Convertible anyone?
As previously announced the new Camaro Convertible features a fully powered, soft convertible top. Like the Camaro Coupe, the convertible will be available with either the 3.6L V6 or the 6.2L V8 engine. The six speed manual transmission is standard, and the six speed automatic transmission with tap shift is optional. Most of the coupe packaging carries over to the convertible. The exception is the convertible will be offered in LT and SS trim levels only. Like the coupe, the 1LT and 1SS trim levels feature cloth interiors, while the 2LT and 2SS trim levels feature leather-appointed interiors. The RS Exterior Package will also be available on the convertible.

ugly. Personal tastes..... but I find that convertibles only look good if they are enormous cars, or small cars... The mid-size to large cars just look awkward.
Plus they never drive as well as the coupe/sedans.

The convertible is needed to compete with the mustang, and I know you guys dont wanna hear it, but it wont even come close on the sales numbers.
Id take a 'stang over that any day.

I was just talking about the upcoming convertible with my Chevy service manager the other day - mentioning that I think the Camaro is the sharpest car on the market. He mentioned the upcoming convertible. I too think the lines of both the Mustang and the Camaro are better suited as a hardtop. I tend to remember the days of Watkins Glen/Mid Ohio Trans-Am racing with these cars and see them as race cars.
I own two convertibles presently and love them, but my choice would always be the hardtop Camaro. But, as said previously, it needs to be out there to fill a nitch.

Looks mighty good! My buddy and I have had discussions about midrange 4 seat drop tops...not too many of them left. Sebring, Maro, Stang (yes, I know the Sebring isn't in the same class of car as the other two but closer price than others). Of course you could go up to c-class, 3 series and saab (still making?) but those are a different price range.

I had a convertible in my youth (59 Plymouth Belvedere). It kicked up all the dust/dirt in the car when the top was down and with the top up it let the snow in in the winter. In Florida, you would fry your heard with the top down. I no longer want a convertible, Camaro or other.
