Because... its also in Jif reduced fat peanut butter... along with zinc oxide.

Surprising enough they are essential for the body. When I was making I.V.s for people who could not eat and received all their nutrition from I.V.s those and other elements were added.

Thing is, the metals are not in the regular Jif, just the reduced fat version. Odd.

Picked up a jar of the regular good old original Jif tonight. I ain't eatin' all that metal. If I wanted copper added to my peanut butter I'd swallow a penny with it.

Look at the bright side......you can use the Jif on your nose for UV protection, then you can lick up the drippins' for your health!
