Corona Virus
Corona Virus
I would like to think another week or 2 of the kids off school and staying home will get this virus situation done.
However I believe it will take our serious attention, so I urge all of you to follow the guidelines of your government, to the letter.
I have ceased driving for anything other then essential shopping, no cruises to take a walk, no coffees with fellow members, just staying at home , a lot of Netflix and this site. I fully believe we can get through this , no problem, as long as we take the precaution of social distancing and logic.
I frequently quote Gene Roddenberry’s Mr. Spock , the needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few.
So, let’s hunker down and get through this together, and in time we will be able to keep it clean and drive it often.
Cheers
Steve
Stay safe and healthy and keep communication open , on all frequencies!

I'm in my second week of working from home. The first week was voluntary. They made it mandatory for this week. This is until the 30th, however with WI's governor issuing stay at home orders today I suspect it will be mid April before I'm back in the office. We've gone out for groceries and a couple of carry out orders. The few days it's been nice out we've gone walking.
Well with all the advice out there I thought I might throw in a few suggestions that I am following from my self activated common sense approach.
1. GROCERY SHOPPING.
a. Try to be forward thinking so that you can make fewer trips. Make a list so you don't miss any known needed items.
b. Start by wiping down your car door handles with 91% alcohol and then washing your hands.
c. Take your own clean sanitized Bags.
d. Put 6 Bounty or? towels in your coat pocket.
e. Go shopping and if they do not have wipes for the cart you can either bring your own or use a couple towels over the handle.
f. Do all your shopping and go through the check out. Load your own Bags.
g. If you use your credit or debit or any other card pull it out and put directly into a towel and wrap it up.
Put it in your pocket till you get home. Wash it with soap and water and then dry it.
h. Head straight for the store restroom and wash your hands carefully including fingernail area. Rinse and wipe dry with a towel if possible.
1. Use a clean towel on the door handle going out . Throw towel in garbage.
j. Take out a new towel or 2 from you pocket and use on the cart handle to get the cart to your car.
k. Drive home to unload and put away all your supplies. Wash hands again.
Done.......Safely
GAS STATIONS.
1. Follow same general procedure making certain you use your towel on every thing you touch.
2. Don't forget the credit card wash procedure as the card machinery will be contaminated from other cards being used in it.
One last tip..... We use a product for washing our laundry from Shaklee Corp. called Basic G. Just a small amount in each load.
It is a liquid Germicide that will kill the Virus and is safer and environmentally friendly to use then Clorox.
3. Take this Protocol Seriously as it only takes One small slip to fail in your efforts.
As a side issue, I wipe all the door knobs, telephones, keyboards, mousses, refer handle, stove knobs, etc. etc. at least 2 times per week with 91% alcohol and a small round cotton pad you can buy at Walmart. It is in the Beauty department for women's cosmetic use.
I also wipe my HHR door handles twice a week.
I know this seems overkill to some, but it's your choice to keep safe.
The Virus does not have any safety rules.
I have a Special Reason for taking extra steps as my wife is a Cancer patient and her white cell counts can get low compromising her Immune System.
Stay Safe............

We were just notified that schools will be closed until 4/13. I'm willing to bet that gets extended again. It wouldn't shock me in a month they announce a mandatory shut down of everything except grocery and pharmacy's.
People are not doing their part.

Chuck,
That seems to be a local made decision as here they have it as an option. They do require you to load it yourself.
I think it is more because it saves the store money.
For me .... I know my cotton bags are sanitized and the cashier or whom ever, does not ever touch it.
It is in my cart and I am the one removing it to use.
