"Cruze" unveiling

Here's a link for my local news station...there are a few video links on their home page, including the unveiling of the new Chevy "Cruze" that will be built in the Lordstown plant, about 30 minutes from my house. They just added about 1400 additional workers to start up the third shift again since Cobalt sales have been up...too bad new hires only make $14/hr

IF GM decides to build a second generation HHR, this is what it will be based on. We can only hope it would be built in Lordstown also, but can't see them bringing assembly from mexico to the U.S. Looks like a 1.4 L turbo ecotec is planned for the cruze here: http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/14/c...er-and-40-mpg/

I have heard the same thing, the next HHR would be on the same platform as the Cruze.

For Europe: 1.6 l @ 112 hp; 1.8 l @ 140 hp & a 2.0 l TD @ 150 hp.

The 1.8 l is already in NA (Saturn Astra), so it's a safe bet to assume that it would be the main engine offered here.
