Daylight-saving glitch threatens mini-Y2K

HELLO! I saw this intersting news online, until seeing this I didn't even realize that daylight savings takes effect on March 11th this year, seems they have moved it from the 1st Sunday in April to the 2nd Sunday in March...I am HAPPY about this, I can almost see the day when I will be out there detailing my beloved HHR on a regular basis again in this disgusting wintry wonderland we call Chicagoland! Anyhow, this is an interesting article!

Read this in our local paper the other day. I myself am not a fan of the time changes. Being born and raised in Michigan I was use to it until moving to Indiana in 1992. Last year they just started to observe Daylight Savings Time in Indiana but it didn't matter because I moved back to Michigan.

I dont care. We dont change times at all. Other than when I was in the Army station in Texas I have never had to change times.

Thumbs up Screw it!

Why do we need to save time anyway? I want to waste as much time as possible! Thus the reason I ride my bike basically everywhere, to use up as much time as possible!

As stated above, that's the cool thing about living in AZ - we don't change times. Unless, that is, you live on the Navajo Reservation - they observe daylight savings there. Not that it matters, though - anyone who's driven across the rez knows that the whole place is stuck in a time warp; somewhere between the 1890's and 1950's, depending on what parts you drive through - it's kind of scary.
The really screwed up thing is when we go to Vegas - they observe daylight savings, as well, and it screws with my mind because even though we drive in a northwest direction to get there, the time can be one hour later than AZ - whereas the rest of the Western states are one hour behind.

It is all so weird. You'd think everyone would either observe it or not.
This autonomy thing smells of states rights I tell ya....

The purpose is to take advantage of as much daylight hours as possible.

Which we certainly DO NOT need to do in AZ. When the temperature hovers around 100 degrees, even at midnight, the last thing you want to do is spend more time outside and/or take advantage of daylight.
It gets HOT, I tell ya!
