It was just a concept car. I imagine they would have fleshed out the interior a little better had it actually gone to production.

Now that's pretty neat.

But do you loose ground clearance?

Maybe I am just a pessimist but I can see a whole host of problems with that design.

Loss of trunk space, Overly Complex, if you look in the trunk it is like a Rube Goldberg just to open the door. Snow or mud in the tracks causing the door to bind or stop, Opening the door in rain would cause the inside of the door to get wet if water were to fall off the bottom of the car or even worse mud and road grime falling on to the inside of the door. Granted it wouldn't get on the part you could see since that folds out of the way but it wold gum up the works inside the door panel. Not to mention what would happen in an accident if you lost power? Would you be trapped inside or is there a manual release?

That said it is a neat idea.

Alternative to Lamborghini Doors?

Is this an actuall product, or is this one hell of an mock-advert?

The real deal. They would never work well here in the northeast unless you took the car off the road and stored it for the winter. They just wouldn't cut it in the snow.
