Absolutely. Big fan here and (living in the Deep South) saw him a number of times over the years.
Cool trivia fact: the Bonnaroo Festival took its name from a mid-70s album Dr. John put out called "Desitively Bonnaroo."
He influenced a lot of folks and will be missed.

Oh. This is the first I heard of this. I knew he wasn't in good health for a while now, though.
Old Blue already posted my favorite of his. I never saw him live, but did see him on Austin City Limits years ago. He was great live. Studio tricks were not part of his thing...
