The new Caddy motor in 2014 is supposed to be both smoother and quieter.

Let's hope the General designs another little truck like the HHR based on the new motor. Wouldn't a rear drive little truck be GREAT...

YES!!!...a small truck or wagon would light my fire as an HHR replacement. I'm piling on the miles with my SS and staying optimistic there will be something to look forward to from the General when that time comes. They've come through along these lines plenty of times in the past...ElCamino SS, 454SS pickup, Syclone pickup, Typhoon SUV and Trailblazer SS to name a few.

Cool to see our 2.0 turbo extended over more platforms. Means more aftermarket support and longer GM support.

Keep in mind this is the second gen engine and is not the same LNF we have. They have made many improvments in weight and noise. The basics are there but in the truth it is a better engine yet.

Not sure how much after market yet on these. I work in the aftermarket and the interest by many companies are still limited.

GM support will only get better as the Turbo 4 will be a mainstream engine from here forward.

New combustion chamber too....

Q: Why a new combustion system?

A: The capability of GM's proprietary design and analysis techniques using computational fluid dynamics*have grown to the point that we were able to explore the combustion system design space more comprehensively than ever before. Key combustion system parameters such as injector spray pattern, piston topology, intake and exhaust port geometry, and installation angles of the valves and injectors have all been optimized to achieve a great balance between

in-cylinder mixture motion and flow. For the customer, this means more efficiency at segment-leading levels of power density.

2.0 Turbo

The engine is amazing. I keep mobile 1 fully synthetic 5W30 in it with an occasional bottle of seafoam or ZMax. Was told about some purple oil that is very high performance that I might try. Five quarts of Mobile 1 is around 28.00 and the purple is supposed to be 50 plus.

Purple has its place..but for the street your doing just fine....nobodies engines are failing from oil problems...its really hard to justify expensive exotic oils on a stock motor..
