Farewell All

After 10 years said goodbye to the HHR last night. Last few years were a little rough on the body, damn deer, heart was still strong. Loved that car. Wish they would have updated it. It wasn't my daily driver the past 2 years but still enjoyed it from time to time. Wife and I picked up a pair of 2018 Equinox. Really enjoyed the camaraderie on this site, really helped through a few tough points in my life. haven't been very active in a while i know but still lurked. Thanks again everyone. obligatory new car photo.

Hope everyone is OK! Hope your new Chevys are as good to you as the HHR.

everyone is okay. I somehow always attracted deer in that car when i was barely moving. nothing serious enough to stop the car. just enough damage to make it look bad. wasn't worth fixing at that point or taking the ding on insurance.

Little risk doubling down on a new model year but the interest rates are killer.

Nice looking suvs. I hope they serve you well. Drop in after a bit with your comments/likes and dislikes on them.

Dang deer for sure. Our hhr had a thing for trees and Wind storms - big branch took out passengers fender, then a couple yrs later a cedar fell and took out the hood and drivers side windshield post. Stuff happens.

And thanks for your contributions over the years.

Thanks Whopper.

Will try to remember, if i don't just hit me over the head.

Wife has the 1.5T and mine has the 2.0T. 1.5 has plenty of pep but the 2.0 hauls. fastest car ive owned.

Only two slightly negative comments at this point.

Not a huge fan of the "auto stop" feature. Getting used to it but i question starter longevity.
The "Driver Information Center" doesn't stay on the same thing you left it on when you turned off the car. I like the "miles to empty" as my primary display. Defaults back to MPH every time you start the car.

So far im happy.

Even came with black bow ties. For an additional charge of course.

That Auto start/stop function is my BIGGEST gripe with new cars. Such a silly way to save gas.

Sorry your HHR is gone, we’ll miss you.
Sweetie and I have kicked around the idea of a new Equinox or GMC Terrain or Impala, or a truck, but we always come back to the HHR, at over 250,000 miles, it still gets the looks, it still gets 33 mpg , everything works, and it’s easy to work on.
I wish you well on your adventures with your two new rides , now watch out for those deer!

Thanks. Main reason I replaced it for the wife was it was not AWD. With her being in healthcare she has to drive in the crap no matter what. I can say the Equinox does not get the mileage of the HHR. At least mine doesn’t. 250 miles in I’m averaging 23 mpg with about a 50/50 mix on the driving. Wife’s only has 11 miles on it but should get better mileage with the smaller motor. The deer need to watch out for me! We shall see how easy they are to work on.
