Actually it's rather cool. Despite your humor, Chrysler developed and sold more than GM. Too bad GM didn't jump on the band wagon first, like they should have. Hence the HHR was a better car, but it was already too late. Basically GM copied Chrysler but it was too late, the retro idea had run its course. Ford and Chrysler did extremely well with their pony and retro vehicles. GM its seems always came in second or third. Never first!

actualy it was the same designer. He left Chrysler and went to work for GM.

Gm has been first in a few things. but never stayed the course...

think of the fiero... that car did not get good until they upped the engine to the 2.8L v6. (the fire prone 4cyl engine had already done the bad press) Then GM cut the funding on the car. I had the SE version.

mr2, civic del sol, Miata.... all success stories of the 2 seat "fun" car market

think of the buick reatta, or the allante.. hi end luxo convertibles... which are now hot numbers if you look toward the German market...
