Since questions were raised in regard to gas prices, I thought I would post this link to an article here. It discusses taxes in general, by states, but covers fuel and related taxes pretty well.

That's a great site...I've used it to check for best prices when I need to fill up. We're still around the $2.75 and up here in the Denver Metro area.

Hey, thanks for the link. I 'm one of those who hadn't seen the post. I was surprised to see it listed 8 of the lowest stations in the lil town of about 100,000 that i'm from, Lawrence, KS. It had 5 that was within 2cents of each other. The local paper lists the cheapest station each day, but it only picks 1 station. Thanks to gasbuddy I have several to choose from. There were three stations at 2.41. Just a couple of weeks ago I paid over $3.

thanks again dbarberaz for bothering to post the link even though you knew it had been posted in the past

Here in Portland, OR the trend at gas stations are "Cash Prices" and "Credit/Debit Prices". Cash Prices are about $0.15 lower than the Credit/Debit prices
