GM adds shift to Camaro line...
Report: GM adds shifts at Oshawa for Camaro demand
OSHAWA, Ontario — A newspaper says demand for the Camaro reportedly has prompted General Motors Corp. to add the week of June 29 as a scheduled work week at the Oshawa, Ontario, plant instead of a week off.
The Peterborough Examiner reported Wednesday the flex line workers at the assembly plant will also start working overtime on Saturdays in June, July and August.
This report comes less than a week after GM said it would slash its work force by more than half by 2014 as part of a broad restructuring.

Not true everywhere, I can even order at supplier price, but have a long history with the dealer (ironically, I will be waiting a year or two though, having too much fun with the HHR). Here's the brochure BTW.

I am in the machine shop business. thankfully our company is not a supplier to the auto industry. BUT a tooling sales rep I have known for years drops into Linamar Corp here in Guelph Ontario. He said the Camaro V6 is selling like crazy. The plant in Guelph can't keep up with GM demand for certain parts they need for the engine on the new V6. A few of Linamars plants make parts for the new V6 motor.

Despite what our current government states, people and businesses still want SUVs.
