Gm Ev-1

Ok, I know this is ChevyHHR.net, Not EVWorld, But I'm just curious.

I was a big fan of GM's EV-1 Project, When it started in '96. I was also a fan of the car, When the ******* exec's at GM Decided to "pull the plug"(no pun intended) on the whole bunch. None were sold, Most were leased. When the project ended there was 1000 names on the list, Wanting to buy one, for themselves. But GM Persisted in killing the project anyway. Most were crushed 2 years ago, Except for a few lucky models that got donated to universities and museums...

A modified prototype EV-1 actually broke a land speed record for fastest electric auto, At 186 mph. The production line still exists, Just dissassembled, In storage. They spent 1 billion dollars on it, Only to crush most of the cars.

My question to you, Would you have bought one of the cars, Had they been available for sale, And Would you still?

I remember the EV-1. Considering the latest prices on Hybrids alone, I can imagine the price tag on the EV-1 would have been a liiiiiittle bit on the steep side.

They got crushed too. 10 of them. Though a company called Solectria started making their own S-10 EVs.

E85 is kick ass, I'm making my own out here. But I still think owning an EV-1 would have been pimp sh**!
