I'm driving to work, South-bound in the express lanes when I notice a pair of headlights behind me gaining on me. I'm thinking someone is in a big hurry, maybe it's that Mustang GT I blew off a couple miles back. Well, I had to wait a bit for a car passing another to clear the left lane, which happened about half-way along the slip lane I needed to get over to the local lanes. The mystery car is right behind me now, and I punched it. I notice the mystery car (in the dust) scrambling to get over to the slip lane behind me, and when he just barely makes it, he lights up like a Chrismas tree.

Oh, Oh... I pull over and start fishing for my registration. Knock Knock!
I roll down my window. "Let me see your driver's license, registration proof of insurance!!!"
As I'm getting out my license, he's barking at me pretty good. Something about me doing over 80 and then punching it with him right behind me...
"I'm sorry sir, I guess I wan't paying attention..." And then more "When was the last time you got a speeding ticket?"
"Uhhh... 1979." (Translated, before you were born).
"You're lucky I'm in a hurry and don't have time to write up a court ticket..." "SLOW DOWN!!!"
Whew!
Fortunately for me I don't have a date with the judge.

On a side note, while he was yelling at me, he looked down behind my left front tire and made eye contact with the SS badge and gave that look.

Good thing you noticed those lights behind you. Some of those good ole boys drive them thar' tinted out cruisers. Too late to notice it's the lawman.

 

Well that's just it, I didn't know it was a cop until the red & blue gumballs lit up.
At 5:30am it's still real dark and all I saw was headlights. My laser/radar was silent, so I wasn't too concerned. He was OHP too BTW.

 

Lucky you! Maybe it's a good thing you opted for the Alpha over the stage kit, or you would have gotten a ticket.
