So, I've been putting together a list of items to repair or replace, so far the list is pretty long and the cost is getting up there. My brother approached me the other day with an idea. He has a Samauri frame and axles with a 231 Buick V6 sitting in his barn waiting for a body. Hmm..... should I?

Hmmm. Interesting. The wheel base on the Samauri is a lot shorter than the HHR. Not sure how you would approach that.

Lengthen the Samurai frame, or shorten the HHR by cutting out the rear door section.

This is still just an Idea, but I'm certain it would be much easier to stretch the samurai frame since I have unlimited access to a machine shop and piles of steel.

The HHRamauri project has been put on hold for several reasons. Number one, the drilling in S. Texas is insane right now and it looks like I will be in the field for over 300 days this year. Second, my inlaws decided to split after 40 years and my mother in law needed a car so the wife and I fixed up the HHR and gave it to her. I did however; have the Samauri frame stretched and the driveshaft lengthened. Right now my youngest son is at the ranch trying to figure out a way to put a 73 Jeep Commando body on it. He better hurry before I find an HHR body. Ive pictured this thing in my head and really want to do it.
